Every time I do a drawing I learn a lot about the anatomy of the subject I'm drawing. When you spend three hours studying a single bird, you learn a lot about subtle plumage patterns, facial expressions and the details of features such as the bill and eyes. |

I found enough time to get another drawing done last night. I chose this Northern Shrike photo from a couple of weeks ago. This shrike was at the Hawkwatch site and seems now to be resident for the winter. |

I got up at 5:30AM this morning with every intention of going out and getting my photography fix. Forecast said sunny skies in the morning, turning overcast later in the day. Well I don't know what their idea of later was because it was gray at 5:30AM and stayed that way all day!
