This week's photo comes from Glacial Park in McHenry County - one of my favorite areas. This Red-tailed Hawk rose up over the trees and flew over the field I was in giving me a great opportunity to get a few shots off before drifting off over the trees on the other side of the field.

This Yellow-throated Warbler was an easy pick for this week's photo. This guy was at Illinois Beach State Park singing away early in the morning. The blue sky behind him was stunning! I always enjoy choosing a Photo Of The Week and this week was no exception. I have chosen this Olive-sided Flycatcher shot from West DuPage Woods. As you can see, I've chosen not to have the tight detail of the bird but to have the bird the way I saw it through-the-lens at the top of this dead tree. From time to time the bird would fly down to catch something then come back to his perch. Week 20's photo is a Henslow's Sparrow that I took at Glacial Park last week. These secretive sparrows are notorious for being hard to see and harder to photograph so this guy made my day...and week!
