Birds of Illinois

Its been harder to get out birding recently - partly because of the weather and partly because of work. But I took some time off to go to Texas with Jeff to do some birding in an area I have never visited before - with outstanding results. Below is a gallery of some of the specialties we saw while we were there. In all, we saw 181 species - and I can tell you it was much warmer than it was here! I will post more pictures and a wrap-up soon, but here's a small taste.
